Derived from the Hawaiian words, ‘kai,’ meaning ‘sea,’ and ‘lani,’ meaning ‘sky,’ the name pays homage to the sea’s significance to the Cayman Islands—from when Cayman catboats would appear on the horizon line after weeks at sea to signify a successful voyage to the iconic sunrises and sunsets that the islands are world-famous for—whilst embodying the sense of place that is integral to every Curio Collection by Hilton™ hotel.
